Notebook Intel Core i7

Intel has made public, at last, its Intel Core i7 processors for notebooks. There are three models, including both standard as an Extreme versions. The
Mobile Processor Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition Mobile Processor of the past i7 recently presented with the i5. That is, use a mobile version of Intel P55 chipset, which Intel has called PM55 Express. As expected, we also adopt some of its technologies.

and said they were more like the i7 800 than the first i7 900 because, in addition to the chipset, will also use dual-channel DDR3 memory, not triple. The three models presented are all four cores and hyperthreading feature, so that what the OS will see are 8 threads. We will also present the Turbo mode, which will improve performance when the system automatically as required.

According to Intel, the new Core i7 for notebooks will also offer the option of being modified through a program called Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, which already existed in previous generations of buses and will easily overclock the processor.

Mobile Core i7, the three new models

The three models introduced today are: *
920XM Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition: 2 GHz, up 3.20 on turbo mode and 55 Watt TDP . * Intel Core i7-820QM, Quad Edition: 1.73 GHz, up to 3.06 on turbo mode and 45 watts TDP.

* Intel Core i7-720QM, Quad Edition: 1.6 GHz, up to 2.8 on turbo mode and 45 watts TDP.

All have 256 KB L2 cache. and 8 MB L3, except the 720 has 6 MB L3.

Conclusions
Mobile Intel Core i7

assume a twist, new models in 45 nanometers, but will not be as powerful or represent as much difference as the i7 desktop, should be significantly better than the previous Core 2 laptop mainly by the use of some new technologies: the hyperthreading to 8 threads and Turbo mode.
are focused on high-end computers, high performance and, most of them, too large. For example, recently we have been talking about new equipment that included Alienware. The lowest price of this computer is $ 1,500.
Regarding possible
competitive products at AMD today has no great processor for laptops, so that these i7 Mobile have all the available market for them. Even, it seems that the guys from Advanced Micro Devices will launch anything new that can cope with the new Intel laptops. At least, not in the short term.

Availability and price of Intel Core i7 for notebooks

Intel has announced that over the next few days several of the major manufacturers will be selling their Core i7 Mobile. Including Asus, Dell, HP or Toshiba, but certainly are many more who in the future also use in their products.
The final equipment prices depend largely on the full specifications of the computers. As you have seen, the Core i7-720QM, less powerful model, is priced at $ 364, quite high. I think it is logical to think of teams with these new microprocessors from the 1,000 or $ 1,200, at least during its first months of life.
